Classic & New Mini Cruise in Aid of Help for Heroes

On the 11th July 2010, Gerry Watkins organised an event for “Help for Heroes” which involved over 230 Minis. The Mini’s that took part came from Scotland, Wales and all over the UK. Mr. Gerry Watkins even mentioned they had a Mini drive from Luxemburg which was 468 miles one way.

The Mini cruise started from the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester, Gloucestershire at midday, with bag pipe players from the southern “Jacobites Pipe Band” leading the parade up in front.

They than began to pass through Wooton Bassett where the many drivers laid a Mini shaped wreath, followed then by passing through R.A.F. Lyneham which led on towards Castle Combe.

Once arrived at the circuit, every Mini parked up and enjoyed the sunshine at this famous great western race track. While at the circuit they held a prize draw which was very successful and led to an overall raised figure of £4,114 pounds, with still more to come.

Thank you to Gerry for organising the event and for everyone else in taking part.
