New name for old favourite
After 24 successful years, Castle Combe Circuit’s major classic and sportscar driving event of the year runs this coming weekend, Saturday the 14th June under its new title of Retro & Sportscar Action Day.
Described as a unique blend of club displays and all out track action, the paddock area is turned over to a huge display area, this year featuring well over 80 clubs representing a huge range of classic cars through to modern sportscars with the majority of manufacturers represented. Sixties Jaguars will be alongside Austin A35’s, modern TVR sportscars next to MG Midgets, the range of the cars attracted is enormous. Clubs are encouraged to put on a good show to compete for the coveted Club Stand of the Show Award whilst owners will be busy polishing their cars to attract the judges eyes for the Car of the Show.
On circuit the track action lasts from 09.00 to 17.00 with a giant Classic Cruise usually attracting around 200 cars at lunchtime.
Drivers can enjoy separate sessions for old classics, new classics, modern sports and classic sports and even a session for new to track drivers so if you have not ventured on circuit before then for just £30.00 you can drive your car as the designers intended without the worry of speed cameras or traffic police.
With a record number of clubs and cars booked in advance, this promises to be one of the most enjoyable events of the year.
Admission on the day is just £10.00 for adults with under 15’s admitted free with track passes for a 15 minute session on track at just £30.00.
