Safety Fund Benefits

The Motorsport Safety Fund has benefited to the tune of £483 from the Castle Combe Circuit’s annual cycle race, the ‘Tour de Combe’.

The one lap race, in an anti clockwise direction around the circuit, took place at the Melton Concrete Products Formula Ford 1600 Carnival on Saturday 4 October, the money being raised from entry fees and donations from the 24 competitors.

The Fund was formed in 1974 and exists to promote safety through all branches of motor sport and is run by volunteers on an unpaid basis.

This year’s winner was Jim Loukes, closely followed by circuit savesometax.co.uk Special GT Championship driver, Keith Dunn.

Winners from the circuit’s own championships, which concluded at the same meeting, will be honoured at the annual dinner dance at the De Vere Hotel, Swindon on Saturday October 25.
