Castle Combe Drivers in the Money

Competitors at the Castle Combe circuit have received over £90,000 in prize money and cash backs over the last two seasons!

 

Since the formation of the Castle Combe Racing Club at the start of the 2006 season, the club has had a policy of giving cash bonuses to drivers whenever entries exceed a certain break even number.

 

This year, drivers in the National Mobile Windscreens Saloon Car, the Melton Concrete Products Formula Ford 1600 and the savesometax.co.uK Special GT and visiting Championships have benefited to the tune of a cool £39,000, a useful increase over the £28,000 they received in the first year.

 

This, coupled with the prize money allocated to race winners, plus the lucrative prize fund for the end of season Formula Ford Carnival, has seen Castle Combe drivers receive benefits unprecedented in national racing, rivalling prize funds of many international, high profile, series.

 

Competitions Director Steve Burns, said, “The Castle Combe Racing Club is here for the benefit of all competitors, marshals and spectators who support Castle Combe. It’s already clear this is having a tremendous effect, even in the relatively short time we have been around. We now have a system which is self generating with our success breeding even more success, which everyone benefits from. 2008 will be even better again!â€
