Castle Combe Pedallers Generate Safety Funds

Drivers, marshals, supporters and officials at the Castle Combe Circuit have raised £500 for the Motorsport Safety Fund, a charity which aids improvements in safety standards at motorsport events.

The bulk of the money raised was from donations by participants in the circuit’s annual ‘Tour de Combe’ cycle race, which took place on the day of the season closing ‘Melton Concrete Products Formula Ford 1600 Carnival’ last weekend.

Further funds were generated by Castle Combe Racing Club official, Adrian Fawdington. As Clerk of the Course last Saturday, he was unable to take part in the Tour de Combe, so instead entered the ‘Run for your Wife’ charity event at the circuit two weeks previous, gathering substantial sponsorship in the process.

The circuit is a long time supporter of the fund, all its previous ‘Tour de Combe’ races being in its favour.
