Castle Combe Pioneers On Line Driver System

Competitors at the Castle Combe Racing Club’s meetings will enjoy a new world of on line convenience from next year, when the West Country venue launches its new entry system.

As well as being able to enter races ‘on line’, drivers will have access to their own data profile, where they will be able to record their own information which can be updated at any time.

Results, history, car details and photographs will all then be available, providing a valuable source of information for the media, commentators, sponsors etc.

Haydn Earl, Competition Secretary for the Racing Club said,” We want to make life easier for drivers. Once their basic details have been stored on the system, they will no longer need to spend hours filling out entries. They will be kept up to date both before and during a meeting by email and text message, providing them with a level of information which is unprecedented.”

John Moon, the Circuit’s Media Relations Officer said, “We pride ourselves on the amount of promotion we undertake on behalf of our drivers, but there is even more we can do. If we can encourage them to be pro-active in keeping their profiles up to date, it makes it much easier to promote them in the media. In this competitive age, we all need to maximize the opportunities presented to us and this is a way for drivers to promote themselves with the minimum of effort.”

Further developments are planned, including a smart phone application and links to the circuit’s web-site and social networking sites.
