Forthcoming Racing Club Events
DRIVERS FORUM
We will be holding a Drivers’ Forum on the evening of Tuesday 30th September, in the Tavern Clubhouse at the Circuit. The Tavern will be open from 7.30pm with the Forum beginning at 8.00pm.
This will be your opportunity to meet the competitors and Racing Club officials, review the 2008 season and discuss any burning issues. Of particular interest for competitors will be the annual review & discussion regarding the Championship Regulations prior to them being submitted to the MSA ahead of the 2009 season.
TOUR DE COMBE
Saturday 4th October sees the now traditional Tour De Combe charity cycle race taking place during the lunchbreak on the Melton Concrete Products Formula Ford Carnival race meeting.
Entry is open to all, and is by donation (minimum ÂŁ5) to the Motorsport Safety Fund.
The race is run over one lap of the Circuit in an anti-clockwise direction (to benefit from the prevailing winds). To enter contact Emma Burns on 01249 782417 or simply turn up with your bike on raceday and register during the morning at Drivers (or should that be Riders?) Signing On in Race Control.
AWARDS EVENING
Bookings are now being taken for the Club’s Dinner, Dance & Awards Evening, which will again be held at the De Vere Hotel in Swindon on Saturday 25th October.
For those who don’t know, the De Vere is easily reached from Junction 16 of the M4, has its own leisure complex and just opposite you will find a Bowling Alley, Ice Rink, multi-screen cinema, restaurants and other entertainment.
Just a very short drive away is the Swindon Designer Outlet Village which has a huge range of shops selling everything from clothes to household equipment.
The evening will see the Circuit’s Champions receive their trophies together with the Castle Combe Racing Club special awards.
