Last Call for Golden Helmet Entries
Entries for the fourth running of the prestigious Golden Helmet event officially close next Monday 10th March (although subject to availability late entries will be accepted of course).
This year the annual event for Formula Ford 1600 cars will take place at Castle Combe Circuit's season opening race meeting on Easter Monday 24th March. The entry list is filling fast so competitors are being urged to submit their entry forms within the next few days to secure their place on the grid.
Entries are being administered by Castle Combe Racing Club and a race entry form is available to download by clicking here.
The event will consist of a qualifying practice session plus two races, with the winner of the second race being awarded the coveted 'Golden Helmet' to wear with pride for the remainder of the 2008 season.
Working with Golden Helmet organiser, James Beckett, Castle Combe Racing Club have been able to secure a low entry fee of just £170 for the two races, continuing to offer the excellent value for money racing that FF1600 competitors have come to expect.
Previously the Golden Helmet has been won by;
2005 (Silverstone) = Peter Dempsey
2006 (Kirkistown) = Noel Dunne
2007 (Knockhill) = Peter Dempsey
With the current holder of the Golden Helmet, Peter Dempsey, unlikely to defend his title due to his racing commitments in America, who will claim the title this year?
