New series for Classics revs up!
The ‘Castle Combe Racing Club’ is running a new ‘mini series’ for under 2 litre
classic saloon and sports cars.
The three rounds ‘Gadgethelpline.com Classic Sports & Saloon Series’ caters for production cars built between 1960 and 1975 within the spirit of being able to be MOT’d and used on the road, if not necessarily road registered.
It is anticipated a mixture of mildly modified MGBs, Sprites and Midgets, Alfas,Lancias, Anglias and Cortinas will take part in the 20 minute races, with the accent on low cost sporting fun, rather than outright competition at any cost.
The mandatory use of road tyres or those of period construction will help to keep costs and performance in check, whilst each of the four class winners will receive a trophy and £50 prize money.
The opening round is on Monday May 7th with further rounds on Sunday 22nd July and Sunday 11th October.
