Racing Club's New Appointment

The Castle Combe Racing Club, which organizes the race meetings at the Castle Combe circuit, has appointed a new Competitions Secretary.

Haydn Earl (51), the former commercial manager at the circuit based Wiltshire College of Motorsport Engineering, assumes responsibility for managing and administering the racing calendar at the circuit, which includes coordinating and promoting entries from drivers.

Haydn Earl has a lifetime of involvement in motorsport, having started his career working for ERA as an apprentice engineer. His time at the Wiltshire College saw him mastermind the 2009 Castle Combe Formula Ford 1600 Championship title for driver Ben Norton, whose unique Spectrum was engineered and run by students at the college.

Well placed to understand the needs of the competitor, as he has competed himself in numerous events here and in Europe, Haydn Earl plans to fully immerse himself in his duties, which will be complimented by his dual role for the circuit as it’s new Business Development Manager.

Chairman and Commercial Director of the club, Adrian Fawdington, said, “Haydn brings with him a passion for motor racing, outstanding I.T. skills, vast motor sport knowledge and significant business acumen. Exactly what we wanted and packaged in a really nice person. To say we are delighted would be an understatement.”
