Record Final Prize Money

With the enthusiastic backing of Melton Concrete Products, we are able to announce an increase in prize money for the Carnival Final.    The total prize fund is now in excess of £2,000 with £500 and a trophy going to the winner and prize money back to 12th place.  The many special awards, aimed to ensure that as many drivers as possible benefit from the generous support of our sponsors is expected to add over £1000 in cash and product awards to this figure.  A new award this year will be £75 to the driver leading each class at the end of Lap 3 and £50 at the end of Lap 7.

THREE NATIONS CUP

Last year, with a strong Irish contingent and with the backing of Swift Cooper, we enjoyed our first ever Anglo Irish Challenge won by the Cliff Dempsey managed Irish team. The prize fund was quickly consumed across The Tavern bar!  This year, again backed by Swift Cooper, we have re-titled the award as The Tri-Nations Cup with Andy Jones offering to manage a Welsh team to compete with the English and of course the Irish.   The fun award was enjoyed by everyone last year and we hope with a third team running, it will create even more interest.

BACKERS BACK IN

FORMULA FORD 40TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY

As drivers know, this year is a special year for Formula Ford as it celebrates it’s 40th Anniversary since the first race back in 1967 at Brands Hatch.   The winner of that race Ray Allen will be our Guest of Honour at the meeting and will hopefully stay on in the evening to present some of the awards.

RACE MEETING FORMAT

Following the usual successful and well proven format, there will be two heats and a Final plus the Last Chance Race, with testing on Thursday 4th October and Silenced Testing (105dBa) on the 27th September, please speak to Maria on 01249 782417 or e-mail: maria@castlecombecircuit.co.uk to book.

AND THAT’S NOT ALL

Anyone looking for an extra race should enter the Tour De Combe, our annual 1 lap cycle dash raising money for the Motorsport Safety Fund.   Just turn up with anything with wheels and pedals and enter on the day, entry is by a minimum of £5 donation.

AWARDS EVENING

With an ‘End of Term’ feel, the awards evening in The Tavern Clubhouse courtesy of Tavern Events is a great way to finish the season.   We have worked hard to obtain sponsors to back the event and it is always then disappointing that some drivers fail to turn up to collect their cheques or trophies.   This year, without a very good excuse, we reserve the right to donate any unclaimed winnings to the Motorsport Safety Fund.

Make an evening of it and stay on to hear local band ‘Erewhacks – fronted by circuit PR guru John Moon. Entertainment is provided courtesy of Tavern Events.  Jacqui Brenton and her team, serving the best food of any circuit* will be offering a range of snack meals, so it will be a great night.
